Does Webscale AI import customers and orders from Shopify?

No. Webscale AI does not import customers or orders from Shopify stores today. Products and collections sync as normal.

What does the Webscale AI app set up when I connect it?

The first sync of your store starts right away. The app also creates a default agent and activates it, so the AI Shopping Assistant is ready once you turn on the app embed in your theme.

Can I connect Klaviyo or a helpdesk from the Webscale AI app in my Shopify admin?

No. Integrations is not available inside the Webscale AI app in your Shopify admin. Contact Webscale support to connect other tools to a Shopify store.

Connect a Shopify store

Webscale sets up the Webscale AI app for your store and sends you a private install link. Install the app from that link, then approve its connection to Webscale AI. The first sync starts right away. Products and collections sync from Shopify. Customers and orders are not imported from Shopify stores today.

Before you start

Use this guide to connect a Shopify store so the AI Shopping Assistant answers from your live Shopify catalog. The Webscale AI app is not listed in the Shopify App Store. Webscale sets up the app for your store and sends you a private install link. The name the app shows in your Shopify admin can differ from store to store.

Webscale AI syncs products and collections from Shopify. Collections appear as categories in Webscale AI. Customers and orders are not imported from Shopify stores today. The Supported platforms and integrations reference compares what each platform syncs.

Steps

Sign in to your Shopify admin as a store admin. Open the install link Webscale sends you and select Install.
Approve the connection to Webscale AI. Webscale sends you a second link for this, or asks you to select Install on Shopify on the Shopify connection page in the Webscale AI console. Review the access Shopify asks for and approve it. Shopify then opens the Integrations page of the Webscale AI console.
In your Shopify admin, go to Apps and open the app Webscale set up for your store. It opens on the Get Started page, where the Setup guide tracks the first sync.
Wait for Connect Store, Import Data, Data Enrichment and Agent Ready to complete. Setting up your data usually takes 5 to 10 minutes.
At Enable the widget, select Enable in Theme Editor. In the theme editor’s app embeds, turn on Shopping Assistant and save the theme.
Back on the Get Started page, select Mark as done.

Check that it worked

On the Get Started page of the Webscale AI app in your Shopify admin, every step in the Setup guide shows as complete, including Enable the widget once you select Mark as done.

Open your storefront to check that the AI Shopping Assistant appears.

Once Webscale AI has scored your catalog, the Get Started page also shows a Catalog readiness section. It rates your catalog as Good, Needs work or Poor and lists the gaps to improve. The section doesn’t appear until a score is ready.

In the Webscale AI console, the Shopify card on the Integrations page shows a Connected badge.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Fix
The install link says it has expired or does not open	Ask Webscale for a new link. Open it while you are signed in to your Shopify admin as a store admin
Connect Store has not completed after 10 minutes	Check that you approved the connection in step 2. Refresh the Get Started page. Contact Webscale support if the step still has not completed
A step shows an error	Contact Webscale support with your store’s myshopify.com name
The AI Shopping Assistant does not appear on your storefront	Select Enable in Theme Editor again. Check that the app embed is on in your live theme and that you saved the theme
Catalog readiness shows Poor or Needs work	Fix the gaps it lists in your Shopify admin
You need to stop syncing your store	In the Webscale AI console, open the Shopify connection page and select Disconnect. Type “disconnect” to confirm. This removes the connection and the keys stored for it
